Startups and Entrepreneurship
With technology development being one aspect of this IITTNIF, the commercialization of these technologies and introducing new business players in the broad areas of Position and Precision Technologies to the world is one another important goal of this IITTNiF. To achieve this the hub will encourage both the young and experienced entrepreneurs who are working on the cutting-edge Position and Precision Technologies development and envisages to be the destination for launching their dream ventures.
Various schemes such as PRAYAS, Entrepreneur in Residence, Seed Support System, Accelerator Program, Incubation, etc., will be considered for implementation that can significantly benefit the budding entrepreneurs of India. Also, these initiatives will significantly aid the much-appreciated policy of the government “Startup India”. In this regard, IITTNiF is collaborating with multiple Business Incubators of India.
DST NM-ICPS -IITTNiF and Position and Precision Technologies importantly focuses on the research, design, and development of Position and Precision Technologies and systems. With a synergistic industry and academic collaborations, the hub aims at realizing the utilization of PPT. Hence, the hub would like to accept R&D funding proposals in the following thrust areas or verticals:

The proposals should aim towards translational technology research and development, considering the commercialization aspects in the afore-mentioned areas.
The proposals can focus on the development of one or more technological aspects. Hub is currently seeking proposals for a duration of 12 to 18 months from Start-Ups working in these core areas with proven track records.
Eligibility criteria for start-up is as below:
- Applicant must be an Indian company registered under the Companies Act or comply with the definition of Start-up as per the latest notification of DIPP (Available at http://startupindia.gov.in).
- Indian company: 51% or more shareholding is with Indian citizen or a person of Indian origin.
- If Applicant is not yet registered as a start-up, they are still allowed to participate but are required to get registered if they get selected for the final grant-in-aid.
- Should have been incubated in an incubation center or technology/ research park supported by the Central or State Government. A letter from the incubation center or technology/ research park should be submitted with the proposal application.
