Public Network Time Protocol (NTP) Server

Summary: Establishment of a publicly accessible Network Time Protocol (NTP) server to provide reliable time synchronization services and support research in network timing and synchronization technologies.

Detailed Description:

The Public NTP Server project aims to establish a reliable and accessible time synchronization infrastructure to support research, experimentation, and practical applications in network timing. The project focuses on configuring and validating an NTP server, enabling client connectivity, and evaluating synchronization performance under different network conditions.

The work includes server configuration, network connectivity establishment, NTP client integration, synchronization monitoring, and performance analysis using clock offset, network delay, frequency behaviour, and packet-level measurements. Experimental studies are also being conducted to investigate synchronization stability, client-server communication, and timing variations across network interfaces.

The project is currently ongoing, with activities focused on completing network configuration, validating synchronization performance, and progressing towards public accessibility.

Status: Ongoing

Technology / Research Area: Network Time Protocol (NTP), precision time synchronization, network timing, clock offset analysis, frequency stability, packet analysis, and time synchronization infrastructure.
