Project Overview
The Academic Network of NavIC (ANoN) Vehicle Tracking System is a real-time vehicle monitoring platform designed to visualize vehicle locations and process positioning telemetry through geospatial dashboards. By integrating NavIC/GNSS positioning, live map visualization, and real-time communication, the platform supports fleet monitoring and mobility analysis.
Technologies Used
- React
- FastAPI
- PostgreSQL
- Redis
- WebSockets
- Leaflet Maps
- NavIC / GNSS Integration
- AWS EC2
- AWS RDS
- REST APIs
Problem Statement
Organizations need reliable, timely information about vehicle movement to support fleet operations and monitoring. Tracking platforms must handle frequent location updates, maintain consistent historical records, and provide secure access to live vehicle information.
Our Approach
Track → Process → Visualize → Monitor
The platform receives telemetry from NavIC-enabled tracking devices, processes location updates, and presents vehicle positions through an interactive web dashboard. Real-time communication enables live map updates, while database storage supports historical tracking and fleet analysis.
Core Functionality
- Real-time vehicle tracking
- Live map visualization
- Telemetry data processing
- WebSocket-based updates
- Multi-tenant access control
- Route monitoring
- Historical data storage
- Fleet analytics and monitoring
Results & Impact
The platform supports real-time vehicle visibility, streamlined fleet monitoring, and location-based operational analysis. Its integrated tracking and visualization capabilities help organizations make informed mobility and fleet management decisions.
Target Users
- Fleet operators
- Vehicle monitoring teams
- Academic and research institutions
- Transport administrators
- Mobility researchers
- Organizations using NavIC-enabled tracking
Technical Challenges
Processing frequent NavIC telemetry updates while maintaining low-latency WebSocket communication, consistent historical storage, and appropriate tenant-level data isolation.
